Question

Streamed Video Appears Anomalous

I just today started using Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder and Server, but am having a few issues. I was able to stream a 320x240 video live without issue. But, once I increased the resolution and bit rate, the video started looking, quite litterally, terrible. So terrible, that it looks basically like a mush of colored blocks. I've attached a screenshot, though at the moment I took it, most of the live feed was just appearing black.

I'm new to Adobe's Flash Media solutions, so I'm not sure what's causing the problem. Any suggestions?

Would anyone happen to know of a way to correct this issue?

Do you have enough bandwidth to support the bitrate you are streaming? Also, which version of Flash Media Server are you using?

Any data rate that I'd set above 600 Kbps would result in the quality of video as pictured in the screenshot. I was on a 40 Mbps download, 35 Mbps upload connection.

Version was Flash Media Development Server 4.5.
