Streaming Limitations

Question

I'm using FMS to stream approximately 30 live events to around 4,000 viewers.  I wanted to make sure there is no limit to the maximum number of RTMP connections to FMS? Also, how many connections does it normally take to start considering adding more servers? I have a pretty hefty server (dedicated dual quad-core with 12gb ram) but I have no way of knowing if it will be enough.  It handled 1,000 connections pretty easily but 4,000 is quite a bit more. Thanks!

Hey joshfester19,The limit to the number of rtmp connections to FMS depends on the type of server you are using.
