Streaming MP3 Crashing FMSCORE.EXE

I work on a site that allows user to upload mp3 content that can then be streamed back on their profile page. In 90% of the cases this works fine, however, some MP3 files are causing an error on the server.

Macromedia Flash Media Server 2.01 r27 encountered a problem and needed to close.

Error Details:

szAppName: FMSCore.exe
szAppVer: 2.0.1.27
szModName: libmp3.dll
szModVer: 0.0.0.0
offset: 00001c7c

If I download these files to my pc, they play without issue through Winamp and Windows Media Player.

If I use a hex editor to remove all header and tag information, the files seem to play properly but I Do not see this as a valid solution to the problem. Users should be able to include tags on their music, and if other media players can handle these mp3 files, Flash Media Server should be able to also.

Could it be something in the encoding?
Is there an updated libmp3.dll file available?
Has anyone else encountered this error?

Any help is greatly appreciated, if you need further information I will provide what I can.

Thanks!

I have a similar problem, although I don't get the windows pop up error.
If I try to stream an mp3 for more than (on average) 3 minutes ALL of the applications that are loaded crash. The only way I can get everything back running is to restart the fms server. I've been looking for a solution for this for months, so far haven't gottten any help.
