Streaming video and audio from camcorder

I have a Sony DCR-TRV33 camcorder that I have connected to my computer via a DV connection on the camera to a firewire card. The video plays very well through Flash broadcaster and receiver movies I got from Stefan Richter's article at http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashcom/articles/broadcast_receiver_print.html. I usually record sound through the camera using a Lavalier microphone which gives me very good quality, but I can't get the sound to come through the DV/Firewire connector and play with the video. I don't know if this is even possible using Stefan's actionscript. I probably need to modify it if it is even possible to do it this way. It may be that I need to use a separate microphone instead of running it through the camera. Has anyone tried this? Thank you.

We are using Sony HDR-HC1's on all of our streaming applications with no audio problems at all using the firewire connection. Both video and audio are crystal clear.
