System Requirements

My organization is looking at the possiblilty of buying a web server for our department and running FMS on it to serve our growing archive of video content. I'm curious about the system requirements, they seem fairly vague to me, especially regarding processors. Adobe says "Intel® Pentium® 4 3.2GHz processor (dual Intel Xeon® processors recommended)." This might be a dumb question, but if I configure a machine with dual Xeons, should they both be 3.2 GHz? Or does the 3.2 only refer to the Pentium 4's in that spec? I'm having a bit of a rough time finding the right configuration on the Dell site, as 3.2 seems to be the top speed for Xeons, and many of their servers are equipped with AMD processors anyway. I'm just curious what others are running...

Thanks,

    Hi Dave,

I think you will be happy with any high end processor.

Hi - I have a related question because it is still not clear to me. If the hardware specs say, "Intel® Pentium® 4 3.2GHz processor (dual Intel Xeon® processors recommended)." Will a "1 Dual Core Intel Xeon 2.0Ghz" work? Or does the Xeon need to be 3.2Ghz as well?

    Thanks,
    Shawn
