Question

Tivo-like live stream handling possible?

I can best describe what I want to do by giving a similar but simplified scenario to my actual problem.

There's a live TV broadcast. I want to record it as it is broadcast live, onto a server, where it will be stored for later retrieval. At any moment after the show starts, a user can start watching the broadcast from the beginning of the broadcast, or start watching it live, or start watching it at any other part of the show (i.e., after 20 minutes of the show, a user opens the player and jumps to 5 minutes past the start of the show).

From an interface standpoint, this would ideally work just like Tivo or RealPlayer does when viewing live content.

Is this possible to do with Flash Media Server? Or are you restricted to EITHER live OR recorded content?

Thanks,
-dan
