Question

Two questions regarding installation

Hi,

I have a few questions, I have scanned the FAQ and knowledgebase but I did not find the answers there.

1) Is it possible to install multiple FMS instances on one Windowz box? Specifically, we have a 1.5 license, can we install a 2.x license on the same box and run both simultaneously?

2) Are licenses transferable between platforms? Specifically, can a 2.x Windows licence be used to re-install FMS on a linux box?

Thanks in advance, regards,
JM

    RE: 1) > -->I believe that will just not happen with FMS 3+ and only one FMS would be usable. I am not sure about older versions (like FMS2) though;

    Thanks fmslove. This was more or less what I expected.

    The reason for question # 1 is that a client of ours wants us to house their FMS. They have a 2.x license. We are running our own FCS with a 1.5 license (ancient, I know) on a windows box. I need to tell the client they cannot host their FMS on our box, i.e. they need dedicated hardware.

    The reason for question #2 is that I would prefer to set up their FMS on linux. They are currently running it on a windows box. So I'm wondering if I can just re-install FMS on a linux box using the same license. (of course the old machine would be wiped)
