Hi,

I'm no techie and I wan't to ensure I'm not doing anything wrong during an upgrade of our FMIS server. When I try to install the upgrade (3.5.7) I'm selecting "upgrade to Adobe Media Server 3.5.7" > "next", a popup warning appears:

"A previous version of Adobe Media Server is currently installed
'Notice* The installed version will be uninstalled.

All files, including config files, meay be deleted.

Would you like to continue?"

Do I need to stop here and backup something? In case "yes"- what? ....or I'm I just paranoid and ignore > continue

I terrified of doing something wrong...

Thanks

When you previously installed FMS, did you make any configuration changes? If so, you'll need to go in to the config files and update your current configurations.

Also, did you verify that the FMS services are up and running?

Its always a good idea back up your application and config files before applying an update.

If you're using the default confgurations and applications and you haven't made any changes (an unusual scenario), I suppose you could skip the backup.

I backed up the "Flash Media Server 3.5" folder, did an upgrade to 3.5.7 but now it's impossible to log into the console with my user/pw. No video is playing on the index.html. What on earth can I do. My worst fear is a fact and no video is streaming....

    Please help....
