Uploading files to FMS...I need help and specifics, please

Hello All,

My current managed hosting plan uses a VPS, and recently I had one of the techs install FMS for me.

HOW do I place the flv/f4v files in the (/vod directory, for example) rtmp server? FTP won't recognize rtmp...what am I overlooking?

Thanks in advance!

Sincerely,

wordman

Well you can use PHP if available on your VPS provider. You can write and upload script on PHP that uses FTP or HTTP upload.

Thanks, but I have no idea what you mean. FTP won't recognize rmtp when I try it.

Okay, just to help someone else who may end up where I was when I originally posted this, I want to follow it with an update.

As I have read, all hosts and hosting companies are different, accessing the FMS file structure will often be different from one to the other.

For me, it was a simple case of accessing my server via an SSH connection. I was soon able to locate the file folders that will now contain my videos, so at this point, I'm on my way.

I don't know if this will help anyone else tremendously, but I have found that when you don't know something, it's REALLY hard to formulate the questions right...especially when experts tell you you aren't asking the quesiton correctly. Endless Loop.

    Cheers,
