Which video codec does the FMS2.0.4 use when recording a live video? Is it ‘Spark codec’ by Sorenson or VP6 codec by On2?

I've had difficultly finding this information as well. Jay, what exactly is meant by "the flashplayer" with respect to client-side encoding?

On reread, it seems like you're saying that browser-based recordings will be Sorenson and that VP6 is only available for offline and/or front-end encoding. Is this accurate?

FMS doesn't do any encoding or decoding... all of that happens on the client side.

If you're publishing your stream using the flashplayer, it will be encoded with Sorenson Spark (the VP6 encoder is not present in the flashplayer). If you use Flash Media Encoder or On2 Filx live to publish your stream, you can publish VP6 video.
