where do the flv's reside

I am currently using progressive downloads but need to switch to flv. I been having a hard time getting this to work.

I can run the samples that that are provided and even add my own video in the vod/media forlder and play them but thats about it...everything else fails..

Jumping ahead.
I have users uploading FLV to my site, how do I get these files into the FMS directory when they are on the webserver..

honestly, I dont even know if im making any sense here, I need some sleep
