Why is my FMS server not streaming?

Background:

  • FMS server on public network
  • Encoder on publilc network
  • FMS version is development
  • Encoder is encoding h.264 with flash wrapper (Viewcast Niagra II)
  • Encoder indicates that it is connected to server & streaming
  • When rtmp://ipaddress/live/stream is loaded into a player, player responds that it cannot connect to the network

Trying to stream live college TV station in preparation for new website

ANY assistance is welcomed ASAP.

Is your FMS binding to public IP address? I mean have you done that setting in FMS configurations?

Are your firewalls allowing traffic on port 1935 and 80?

Okay, so now it seems that the encoder is able to connect to the server, however when testing the stream, all I get is 'buffering' and a blank screen.    Any more ideas? BTW, the firewall errors out when I try to check the ports, something about ipnat.sys...
