Will FME worth with other streaming servers?

Hello.

Currently we are providing a live audio stream to our web visitors using FMS and an embedded flash player and we want to also provide a stream in Icecast/Shoutcast/iTunes/WinAmp format.

We'd prefer to do this using the same servers which are currently doing our encoding and serving. The question is... Do I need an additional encoder solution? Will FME encode to anything but the Flash Media Server? Or is FME tied to FMS? Any thoughts? Thank you!

FME only publishes to an RTMP transport stream, so no, it won't be able to publish to Icecast.

Incidentally, FMS does not do any sort of encoding... it's bits in, bits out. When using FMS, encoding happens on the publishing client.
