Getting a list of layers and layer Ids

Hi,

Have been exploring using the Photoshop API and I apologize if I missed this but I have a use case where I want to get a list of all the layerNames and layer Ids so that I can find a specific layer that I am looking for and then do operations on that. Is this possible?
