Why have an EDIT function if it doesn't edit anything and takes your credits without showing any change?

There is an EDIT function on the firefly platform but it doesn’t do anything most of the time except for slowly degrade the image, waste your time and steal your credits.  IF NOTHING CHANGES IN THE IMAGE WHEN I GIVE IT A CLEAR SIMPLE PROMPT THEN WHATS THE POINT.
