adding watermark to a postscript file

Hello,

I am trying to insert a watermark in a postscript file.

I have tried certain methods but not able to get a method which can insert a watermark in all text documents as well as images.

Can anyone suggest a method to do this. Please tell where to insert the method in the postscript file.

i do not want to modify prologue.ps file.


Any help will be greatly appreciated

Dear Aandi,

First of all , i will like to thankyou for replying to my posts in such
short duration of time.

I have some limitations , hope you may understand.

1) This is my requirement that i can't use prologue.ps file to add
watermark.
As i need to add watermark to postscript file, and not change distiller
settings.

2) I need any postscript code sample to add watermark to postscript file.
hope you can send me any sample code on abhinav.galodha@newgen.co.in.

I will be greatly thankful to you

You don't have to use a prologue.ps file. A prologue can also be added
to the start of the PostScript file.

Just any sample postscript code which can work.

Thankyou for your reply to this post.

I am able to understand what you have said.

I am not worried about where to place method in postscript file.

Can you tell me any code to insert a watermark in postscript file
i.e writing certain lines of code in postscript file which would insert the watermark.

Sorry my reply is not clear.

Let me try and write it simply:

1. it is IMPOSSIBLE to write code that will always work for every
file.

2. a prologue will work MOST of the time, if it is written very
carefully.

PostScript is a programming language, and you seem to be looking for a
universal solution. It's like saying "I have a C program - where can I
change it to print an extra line". In the general case you do need to
understand what the program is doing before you can modify it.

That said, careful and inventive use of a prologue will work in 99% of
cases.
