Dear community.

I have not experience about postscript files. My question is following

Now I make import of postscrip files to Image editor (for example Adobe Photoshop or Gimp). Every postscript file as layer in Image editor. But postscript files are imported with white background. How can I set value of backgroundcolor as transparent in postscript file?

thanks in advance

nav3000,

PostScript doesn't support transparency, however you should be able to import (drag & drop) a PostScript file into Photoshop (CS4 Extended for example) and see the "background page" as transparent if no page was drawn in the original PostScript file.

Sounds like your PostScript files have a white page drawn already and that is why the page doesn't look transparent in Photoshop.

If you are using a packaged program to generate the PostScript files then check for settings in the program to turn off the page drawing.

Quark used to do that and I wrote a program to scan and remove the page drawing instructions in the PostScript file.
