Our Accounting department want to convert monthly reports PDF file into PostScript format. The file has 1005 pages. The size of PDF is 3,658 KB but when we convert PDF file to PS the size become 3.76 GB.

We are using Adobe PDF professional version. We want to know is there any way where we can reduce the PS file size.

Thanks,

Paresh

Can you share what you intend to do with Postscript file ?   You just want to print it ?

When you convert PDF to postscript all images are saved in raster format , text not compressed !!

That;s why the size are larger

If the Postscript file generated by professional Designer tool then the size should much less.

Cheers

One of the advantages of PDF over PostScript was PDF's compactness over PostScript. It is very unusual, except for printing to PostScript printers, to ever convert PDF to PostScript and certainly not for anything other than temporary purposes!

A direct answer to your question requires more information about the contents of the PDF file itself. Is it all text, some text and raster images, what?
