Question

Postscript plotter not showing up after installation

Hi, I am facing an issue while adding a Postscript Level 2 'plotter' in Autocad. In the past, I have used it to plot drawings in '.eps' format (plotting to file). The issue is that after successfully installing the plotter from AutoCad's 'add a plotter wizard', the postscript level 2 plotter doesn't show up in the list of plotters.

I am not sure if this is the right forum for this question, so please point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance!

The only other thing I'd add here is that EPS is pretty much obsolete these days, and there are much better alternatives (PDF, for instance). What's your end goal with these EPS files?

I like to make eps files when I have to take a drawing to photoshop to edit/colourize etc. PDF I have noticed doesn't work too well for this. I only plot to pdf for editing the file if I don't have the eps option.

Does not AutoCAD support exporting directly to EPS?

I dodn't see the need to "print" the file at all.

Also: you can always Export to EPS from the PDF (using Acrobat).

This would be a question for AutoCad, as it's their program that's configuring the printer.

I did a quick search and found the instructions for doins so. Maybe try again and add a second instance?

Thanks for taking the time out to reply and post a link! I have tried posting the problem in the Autocad help community as well. I just thought its worth a shot to try it here as well 🙂 The link you have shared has the exact steps that I followed. It's just that the plotter simply doesn't show up in the drop-down menu for some reason.
