Hi,

I am new to this but i have been creating a PPD to be used in my office to set defaults for a postscript file so i can make a PDF from it.

I am trying to set the true type font options to download as softfont.

Is there any way to do this in the PPD???? I know how to change the setting in advance printer settings but that defeats the purpose of creating a PPD for us.

please help

thanks

This really isn't a PostScript issue.

In terms of setting the TrueType option to "download as softfont," that is a driver option that is not controlled by the PPD file.

And finally, Adobe Acrobat comes with a PPD that is designed for use in creating PostScript for distillation into PDF, specifically with the Adobe PDF PostScript printer driver instance installed with Acrobat. There is no good reason to create a PPD for this purpose.

Hello,

is there any possibility to controll this feature? I have to set this feature automatically because only with these feature I can print PDF/A correctly. I have to set this option on a lot of printerns.

What feature are you referring to, "to download as softfont"? As I mentioned previously, that is a driver option. Explicitly, you can find it buried in the Advanced Document Settings. And for what it is worth, this has nothing whatsoever to do with font embedding and/or production of PDF/A files. Why do you think it does?!? Can we assume you are using Acrobat to produce PDF files or something else?
