Question

.txt file to PS layer?

Hello,

I've been searching in vain for a way to import a text file into Photoshop.

I've managed to locate a script which exports a text layer into a .txt file.

Was hoping to find the reverse...( import a .txt file which creates a workable type on it's own layer.)

can this be done?

Thanks for any help

Jeff

hehehe

I asked this question in the photoshop forums and was told I'd have better luck posing this in the scripting forum..

As for using Photoshop or In Design.?

My initial goal was to fully utilize Photoshop.. Obtaining such a script would enable me to do so... however if none is available I may have to seek out another program.

My concern about Photoshop is that for some purposes (but not all) it
would be the wrong tool. If you want to outline the end result you
want, maybe someone will have an idea whether Photoshop is the right
tool.

Photoshop SDK?

I should have mentioned.. I know very little of programming. Just a bit of basic Excel VBA..

was hoping to find something already out there.

Ah, if you post in a programming forum, the assumption is that you're
a programmer. If you're looking for a tool, you might try the
Photoshop forum (not the Photoshop SDK), but be very sure you really
need it to happen in Photoshop, rather than InDesign.

You might try the Photoshop SDK. Though I feel I should mention that
Photoshop's text support is rather poor in many cases, and, since I
know nothing about your project, it may be that you should really be
looking at automating InDesign rather than Photoshop.
