Why would there be? I can write software and use any dictionary key I want. In theory, dictionary keys should start with a company prefix, but this is only a recommendation.

Why are you concerned?

No, it is not in the spec, and does not need to be in any spec. A PDF can contain private keys for any purpose. GhostScript seems to use this as a private key, but all the information I found is what I linked to.

I know; it's wired. In this internet age, there is no place to find what it is for and how to use it.

It is not in ISO 32000-1 so far as I can see. So it must serve a private purpose. Research suggests it is used for internal purposes by GhostScript: [gs-devel] Questions about 8.70 vs 8.71

Thank you so much for the response. Do you know what OrigFont for? I saw a few places when I searched it that it is added to the Type 1 font dict but I do not know why it is added and what it is for. Somewhere, some spec has to explicitly say what it is for and how to use it.Thanks again.BR,
