Adobe Garamond Pro bold not correctly rendered in MS Word

Up until about two months a go, Adobe Garamond Pro boldface showed-up correctly in MS Word.

As of now, and since that time, it does not show up correctly in that application, although it does

show up in Mac's Text Edit word processor. Some times it does appear correctly, but the same

document, when opened later, does not correctly display that typeface.

Is this a problem with the font, or perhaps the way a Mac processes fonts? Could a way be found to reinstall

this font without having to repurchase it from Adobe? Any help appreciated! --E.A.C.

If you have a valid license for the font from Adobe, there is no legal impediment to your reinstalling the font. (Hopefully, you still have the original font file you purchased.)

I do NOT know if it will solve your problem, but deleting the font from the OS and reinstalling it is not very difficult or time-consuming, There is a good chance it will solve your problem.

Thanks for your helpful message. I'll try out what you suggest. FWIW, another person in a different newsgroup (not a computer ng!) suggested periodically checking out duplicate fonts in the Font Book, resolving those difference, then opening Fonts in the Cache Folder, moving all the font caches to the trash, and then restaring the Mac. Any suggestions regarding this? --E.A.C.
