Broken MultipleMaster Font

Since the December 2011 patch Tuesday I am having trouble with an instance  of the Adobe MultipleMaster font GraphiteMM. The instance I installed now  defaults to Arial and reinstalling it changes it to a new name which means we  need to change fonts in existing documents.

Anyone have a clue which patch may have done this? My operating system is XP  Pro 2002 with sp3.

Thanks

I tracked the issue down to the Security update for windows XP KB2296199. When I uninstalled it the problem went away. Will Adobe work with Microsoft to fix either the XP patch or offer an update to the Multiple Master font? Are the MM fonts discontinued? I can't seem to find them on the Adobe site.

Adobe stopped making new multiple master fonts in the late 90s, and discontinued active support for them at the end of 2005. So I think the odds of anybody doing a new fix for XP to address the problem are pretty slim!
