Question

Can't move my adobe fonts to my new computer?

I recently downloaded the Frutiger std font family to use in Illustrator CS6.  I have since got a new computer and can not get the fonts to re-load on the new harddrive.  I have copied the font files and pasted them to the new hard drive but when I right click on them no install button comes up, only open.  Are you only allowed to install the fonts once?

Hoping this is where I answer.  I am running windows.   And yes I extracted the otf file from the zip file and that is the file that I am right clicking on??

Yes, that should be correct.

How many files are in the .ZIP file? Are there any files with a first character that is a "." character? If so, that type of file is not what you want (they are MacOS Resource Forks). Could you provide the full file name of the file that you are trying to install by right-clicking?

No, there is nothing in the fonts with that type (pun intended of course) of restriction.

What platform are you on? Windows? MacOS?

I suspect that what you downloaded and are trying to install might in fact be .ZIP files that contain the .OTF files that are the fonts themselves. If that is the case, you need to open the .ZIP files and extract the .OTF files inside and then try to install the .OTF files.
