Can you recommend a font for a architect's business card

That's almost like asking for a font for use in a movie title. I doubt
that Christopher Wren's business card (if he had one) would look
anything like Frank Gehry's, or that either would resemble William Van
Allen's.

Is the architect a modernist or classicist? Is there (or will there
be) a graphical logo with which the text should coordinate? Does he or
she have a specialty such as homes, tall buildings, strip malls, etc.?

Tekton Pro is the OpenType version of the earlier Tekton (which was available both as PostScript Type 1 and as a Multiple Master font). As Don said, it simulates [hand] printing on blueprints -- so, indeed, you might use it for comics, too, although that was not it's intent.

Hi, thanks for your input. Is Tekton the same as Tekton Pro? I have the later. The one I have seems quite odd, almost a bit comic style or something. I was looking at some architect's business cards and most of them seem to be using sans serif fonts? Thanks again.

Look at Tekton, which simulates the printing on blueprints. That said, it is a somewhat soft and friendly looking font, and you might want to follow the more common use of traditional serif fonts for an architect. Tekton might work in limited use, perhaps only the name of the company or the individual.
