Copying Fonts

I have fonts legally on both my desktop and notebook. The desktop crashed and I need to reinstall the fonts. Both are PC machines running WinXP Pro. Do I have to install the fonts from the original disks going through the "install" procedure, or can I wholesale copy them from the "fonts" folder in Windows on notebook to the same folder on the PC?

    Neither. You go to Start/Settings/ControlPanel/Fonts

    File / Install New Fonts

Navigate to the notebook's hard drive, multi-select the fonts you want
    to install, and go.

If you're using Adobe Type Manager, you can use it the same way. Start
it up and go through the install procedure, using your notebook's font
folder(s) as the source. If the notebook has Type 1 fonts with the
.pfb and .pfm files in separate folders (as ATM defaults), then you
will probably have to copy them all the same folder from which to install.
