Create Font...HELP!

I have a single word that has been used as a logo since 1993, that was done by hand by an artist friend of my client. Is [it possible to] create a font based off of 6 letters?

@Meaghan37909830hql3, yes, there are several ways you can create your own font and base it on a particular style or set of letters. I think Adobe Illustrator is the best software to use for custom fonts, but there are others you can try.
