Creating fonts?

1. Does Adobe have a program to make fonts?

2. From what I understand, Fontagrapher is the industry standard for doing this?

3. Can anyone recommend some other programs that I can look into for making fonts?

Thanks!

To directly respond to your questions:

    (1)     Adobe does not license any software for font creation.

    (2)     Fontographer is one such tool, but not one I would characterize as “the industry standard.” FontLab has much higher functionality and would be more a professional tool as opposed to Fontographer being more of a tool novices as well as for those with less demanding requirements.

    (3)     Besides Fontographer and FontLab, there are some products including open source (i.e., “free”) products such as Font Forge (<FontForge>).
