Does anyone know how to oraganize fonts in any of the adobe programs. I would like to be able to organize fonts by families. Such as when I click on fonts and get my list of fonts I would like to have 1 font name and then have the drop down menu for all of the different weights, instead of having all of the weights listed as seperate fonts. Does any one know how to do this or what program can I use to acheive this in any of the adobe programs? Thank you for your help

They are different versions of different applications, the result and functionality is identical in both. There is no difference in the screen shots except an insignificantly minor cosmetic one, caused by the fact that the Illustrator screen shot is from an older version (10.0.3) while the Photoshop screen shot is the current version (11, "CS4")

Whatever version of whatever Adobe application you have will give you exactly what you describe.

Bottom line, you can't change it.

Ramon, thank you for response and screen shot great idea.

My question is the following, In your screen shot see how you have Adobe Garamond listed and to the right an arrow head that shows a flyout menu showing you the additional weights for that typeface. Now look at the Garamond cyrillic, see how you have them listed seperatly I would like to organize my font menu so that it shows Garamond cyrillic and to the right have its own arrow head showing all of its additional weights in its own flyout menu.

What's more, I just checked my older version of InDesign (2.0.2), and it has exactly the functionality I understood the OP to be describing. As I stated above: "a flyout submenu popping up from the font menu item itself".

[Pixentral is down at the moment. I'll try posting a screen shot later.]

My version of Illustrator (10.0.3) behaves in this respect just like Photoshop 11 illustrated above.

The only way the OP makes any sense is if s/he wants to see a flyout submenu popping up from the font menu item itself, but that very functionality is right there already, as Thomas points out.

c
c Photoshop 11

I must be misunderstanding the request; the description as I read it is requesting exactly the behavior we already see in many Adobe creative applications, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and the latest version of Flash.

    1,

AFAIK, you cannot change this. It's the user interface as developed by Adobe.
