Question

Don't load fonts

I have a lot of fonts in my fonts folder (3,960) and whenever I click on the type tool in photoshop, illustrator or indesign it takes forever to load.

I use them just when I have a project.

Is there a way to stop loading fonts or just load Windows' default fonts without removing them? Thanks!

OS: Windows 7

CS: CS5 (Middle Eastern Version)

The solution is broadly called “font management,” and involves using a third-party application. (Adobe once had a font management application, Adobe Type Manager, but they stopped developing it over a decade ago.) A font manager allows you to organize, search and activate/deactivate fonts. The core function of activation/deactivation generally involves grouping fonts in sets, and activating the individual fonts, families or sets you need rather than having all your fonts active at once.

Professional font management applications can even automatically activate any needed fonts when you open a document in InDesign, Illustrator or Photoshop.

The most popular pro font management tool on Windows and Mac is ours, Extensis Suitcase Fusion 3.

http://www.extensis.com/en/products/suitcasefusion3/overview.jsp. It has a number of unique features (“QuickMatch”: show me more fonts like this one) that make it a great choice.

    Cheers,

I installed the trial version and now whenever i open InDesign or Illustrator i get an error message about the file CoreFoundation.dll

I search this error and found this.

now I have to uninstall and reinstall both illustrator and indesign!
