Indeed, it has been passed on to the web team for posting and should be up within a week or two at most.

Note that there are a lot of changes in this new version, and it has not been tested as thoroughly as we might like. You should make a deliberate decision about whether you want to be an early adopter, or maybe wait a month or two until the dust settles.

Maybe late July. The lead engineer is about to be on vacation for three weeks. In the meantime, we're thrashing out some issues about how best to support the CSS menu name stuff mentioned above.

Sorry about the delay, but it's more important to us to get this stuff right - especially when we're talking about the OpenType spec itself, which changes the FDK is just reflecting.

We've settled the question of bumping the OS/2 version (yes), but there is still some ongoing discussion about the "weight-width-slope only" bit.

Cheers,

The FDK 2.0 is at least 3 weeks away. It has been (almost) ready to go for over a month, but I am holding it back until the discussion on "opentype-list@indx.co.uk" about the new bits in the OS/2 table fsSelection field is settled. When this happens I will fix MakeOTF to set these bits, and release to the Adobe web team in just a day or two, but from that point on there is a time-lag of at least two weeks before it actually gets posted.
