I have am having trouble with new fonts from Folio11 not being displayed on font Text menu in photoshop version 5 (I know its very old version).

I understand that photoshop v5 ascertains/borrows its font styles from Windows.

New folio11 fonts are recognised in MS Word Documents but not photoshop v5, how can I fix this small techinical issue

Regards

J

The fonts in Font Folio are OpenType fonts. Photoshop 5 (not CS5) dates back to a period of time when our applications only supported Type 1 and TrueType fonts. Photoshop's font handling has nothing to do with Windows; that is not the issue. And yes, modern versions of Microsoft Word (since at least Word 2000) do support OpenType fonts to some minimal degree.

You are not going to like this, but the only workaround is to upgrade your copy of Photoshop which was released sometime prior to 1999 if I recall correctly, prior to the release of the first OpenType CFF fonts provided by the current Font Folio.
