Font advice for vintage look?

Question

Can anyone recommend any good free fonts to replicate the look-and-feel of a period piece from the 1920's, 1930's or 1940's? I am looking for fonts from any of those periods, the idea is just to have something that makes someone think of those days when seeing the fonts. I'd like a headline text and body text if possible.

Like most things, it depends:On the type of piece you're talking about; Magazine, Advertisement, Poster, Letter, Instruction Manual, ...On the piece's national origin; Different countries and areas had different styles.On the nature of the piece; Formal, business, serious, humorous, ...On the intended audience; Conservative bankers, historians, the MTV crowd, ...Other image factors come into play as well as the font, some of which may be dependent upon the above. These include the color of the piece (amount of white space between letters, words, and lines), ornaments and illustrations, the use of drop caps or not, and lots more.   - Herb
