Font "Minion" - where can I find the costs?

Hello!

Where can I find the costs for using the font "Minion" (not Minion Pro or others) on Win 7 machines?

Or is it free?

At Adobe website I had only found a package including many other fonts, which I don´t need.

Thank you for help.

Daniel

Minion is not a “free” font. If someone offers you a “free” copy of Minion, you are dealing with a pirated copy.

Minion Pro is the OpenType CFF font format version of Minion, originally released as a family of Type 1 fonts.

You can still license the old, deprecated Type 1 versions of these fonts at <Adobe - Fonts : Minion> either as a full family or individually (for example, Minion Regular is available at <Adobe - Fonts : Minion® Regular>.

That having been said, it would not be prudent to license the old Type 1 fonts given that many newer, non-Adobe software products don't support Type 1 anymore (such as Microsoft Office 2013) but do support OpenType CFF.

The OpenType Minion Pro family is licensed at  <Adobe - Fonts : Minion Pro> for  US$199. But you can license individual faces, such as Minion Pro Regular at <Adobe - Fonts : Minion® Pro Regular> for US$35.
