Okay guys,

So I am in the process of designing a logo for my band. The logo will be used for T-shirts, our website, and other merch (stickers, business cards, etc.). I need some assistance as far as licencing rights go. I want to use the font Eccentric Std. for the logo and I was wondering if this font could be used for that purpose. I read that it fell under print and preview, but I wasn't sure if that meant that it could only be used on a website. Also, I saw that the font has been used on birthday cards like the Rose brand that Walmart carriess, so I'm assuming that there is some way that it should be okay,

Thanks,

Branon

Branon,

You are perfectly OK embedding the font you specified, Eccentric Std, within any PDF or EPS file you use for the logo or in any PDF or EPS file of content that contains the logo, assuming you have licensed the font from Adobe. There are no further licensing or royalty issues.

If you are displaying the logo using Eccentric Std as a raster image on a website (such as TIFF, JPEG, or PNG formats), you are also have no issues associated with any further licensing or royalty issues.

The only issue is if you want to use Eccentric Std for live text on your website, i.e., text rasterized by the web browser itself with a downloaded font. That is not covered by the license. However, I don't think that is what you are trying to do in this case.

So then so long as I've paid the licensing fee I'm good to create t shirts and merch and sell it? Also what is live text?
