Hello,

I am interesting in purchasing Helvetica Neue for a business. The package that I was looking at on the West Virginia University webpage (I work for them) is $149.00. How many computers can this package be installed on?

    The response given above is indeed correct. There is no general correct answer. You must read the EULA (End User License Agreement) provided by the specific vendor of the font license.

    In the case of Helvetica Neue Std, other than as part of its Font Folio product, which you are clearly not purchasing for $149, Adobe no longer sells licenses for Helvetica Neue Std and as such, any licensing information about the product we previously had available is totally irrelevant to what your university webpage is offering.

    You should also be carefully check that the licenses available via your university are not restricted to academic usage since you indicated that you wish to use the fonts for a “business.”

    Mostly, a standard license is for 1-5 computers ... BUT ...

    - there could be a special agreement between the vendor and your university

    - it's often a restricted license for use on personal desktop (notebook, tablet) only

    - depending on the usage (network server, webhosting, digital ads, app development, epub ...) there are special licenses and prices.

    Search for the license agreement - it should be somewhere on the shopping pages.
