how to apply and warp deco

Hello, 

I work on still life and many times have to replace the deco/text on bottles with provided illustrator files. I know how to export the illustrator text but wanted to know if anyone knew of any good books on transforming and warping text properly? 

I find it very difficult ! and helo would be great!
