2046,

Although commercial fonts can approximate your sample, the only way to very closely capture its feel is with hand calligraphy, an expensive and tedious proposition.

Here are the Adobe fonts of this type:

Several of these are textura faces similar to the one shown.

Herb, 2046,

For the reasons explained by Herb, I've deleted your download link. Under the circumstances, I certainly wouldn't trust downloading anything from there. Cookies, malware...etc. And links to questionable content are against forum policy.

2046,

As a note: like many people here, I am reluctant to download (unknown) files. If you don't have your own server, you can place a decent size image for free at pixentral.com, which provides a direct view (and not download) for us from their server, and a small preview to click on in the forums.

The red part was handwritten (probably 500 years ago) and possibly the
black as well.

There is probably no font that matches all the letters in your sample;
and not all instances of the same letter in your sample are formed the
same way.

Here's an easy to page through group of blackletter fonts:
http://snipurl.com/6yhpu [www_identifont_com]

If you google for
blackletter fonts
you'll find a lot to choose from.

free blackletter fonts will yield MOSTLY free versions.

Also google for
fraktur fonts.

for any of these searches, you can also click on 'images' on the
google page. This will bring you right to some pictures of fonts, but
NOT necessarily the same ones that the text search does.

Could it be that you have posted a thumbnail when you intended to post a large image?

As I said, the image is way too small and of too low a resolution to
be able to tell.

Try googling for black-letter fonts, uncial fonts, and calligraphic
fonts. With the original in front of you, you'll be able to do some
comparisons.

The image is way too small and low resolution to determine which of
hundreds of black-letter, uncial, or calligraphic fonts might be
closest. It looks like a scan of metal-printed copy (at that
resolution it might even be hand-lettered) and it's likely that there
is no exact match, but there are definitely some that are close. The
ornamented initials would be separate from the font in any case. I
can't even tell what character it is - most likely an 'A', but I'm not
sure.
