Client's files were created using Font Folio OTF, version 10. We have Adobe Font Folio OTF, version 11 (since Version 10 was no longer available at time of purchase). When opening client's InDesign files, ALL Mathematical Pi LT Std OTFcharacters show (and PDF) as a multiplication dot. Originally we thought that the problem was font embedding, since most of the InDesign files we've received from the client consist of placed, linked, and locked references to base files. However, we've also received unlocked, standard InDesign files and the problem persists. We have tried emptying font caches, reinstalling fonts from the original disk (and emptying font caches again), etc. Because the files are locked, we are unable (and have not been contracted) to go in and change the fonts to the newer version. It is not clear whether the client will be able to purchase and replace the fonts themselves. Font Folio Version 10 is no longer available for sale (that I can see), so we cannot downgrade to th
Hi,I have made a series of ascii-drawings as illustrations for a story book. This is very font sensitive and the font that I am using is "Courier".An example is shown below. ~V~ ~V~ ~V~ ) ~V~ ) &nb

For Adobe OpenType fonts, are these allowed to be converted to a .eot file for embedding on webpages?
I have a font "Lithos (BM) Light" and can't find the outline file. Is this an Adobe font or some other foundry?Any help is useful.
Hi,I've got this old font that I need to use. I would like to change the glyph mapping of the font (i.e., use the same glyphs, but map them to different spots). Does anyone know of a free application that would let me do this? Thanks,Ariel

I have a new PC.Starting from scratch I had Windows Vista 64 installed as this was just before the Microsnot launch of Windows 7. I bought CS4 Design Premium and had this pre-loaded. I downloaded Extensis Font Fusion 2 and loaded that. After loading this I had issues with Illustrator crashing and also Indesign and Flash. Also Photoshop 64 pretty much wouldn't work at all. I removed Font Fusion2 and found the Adobe products were less flakey but still not solid. I then upgraded Windows to V7 64bit. This also improved matters though PS64 still wasn't 100% stable.I called extensis and they said that they had released a version that answered this issue, but since loading the latest version of Suitcase Fusion 2 Illustrator has become very much less stable and also PS64 is now unusable, which is a bit of a shag as I have paid to have 12 gB of ram in this machine which is only used by the 64bit apps.I have called Adobe technical who were pretty unhelpful.Has anyone found a good type manager fo
I'm shopping around for fonts for use in a global corporate organization that creates printed packaging in numerous languages. What I need is as small a set of fonts as possible that would include at least the following Unicode ranges (and be all Unicode-friendly, obviously):Latin (and supplements/extensions), Cyrillic (and extensions), Greek (and exts), CJK Unified Ideograph, Hiragana, Katakana, Hangul Jamo (Hangul Choseong & Hangul Jungseong), Tha, Hebrew and Arabic. Devanagari would be nice, but isn't needed immediately. An Opentype version of Arial Unicode MS would solve this issue totally for the sans-serif side of things (we can't use Arial Unicode MS itself for,... stupid reasons), but we also need a serif'd font, anyway.I've tried digging around on the Adobe fonts site looking for precise, hard, quantitative information like this, but have come up empty handed. Help?
I recently designed a huge media kit for my newspaper. The project was created in InDesign v.2 on my Mac and the only font I used was versions of Myriad Pro - regular, bold, condensed, etc. I made pdfs and sent them to the salespeople who all use Windows computers and printers. They complained that when they printed the pages, the "y" in the body text (Myriad Pro Regular) would print in bold, although the text was not intended to be bold. I printed from my Mac to various printers here with no problems. Does anyone know what is causing the issue and how it can be fixed? Is this a Windows compatibility issue? It only happens with Myriad. No other fonts have this problem. If I can't correct the problem, I may be forced to redo my design and change body text to Helvetica Any insight would greatly be appreciated.
Hi all,I'm working with a file that came to me with outlined type, and the client wants me to type a paragraph in the same font as the PNG I've enclosed. I recently got a new HD and have over 6,000 fonts which I haven't reinstalled yet...this typeface is very familiar to me, but I'm drawing a blank. Any guesses? Your help is appreciated! Thanks!
I have a need in which we need to substitute current text with spaces for a specific line in the document. As this line of text has a unique font and is used in hundreds of documents, Is there any font which can be substituted in place of current font to have just empty space getting printed in place of current glyphs? All documents printing this text use the same font for this text. These documents are printed using a print processing software which allows to swap the font with another one using the mapping. So thought is to find a solution which allows to space out this text without having to extensively modify all documents. Though for this,a font would be needed which will not print the text but emulate it with blank pixels so that rest of the text of the document doesn't shifts it's relative positioning.Adobe may have developed such a font though I am not able to find it on web site. Need your help. Thanks
Just a friendly reminder. Hi everyone,I am new to fonts and other stuffs related to fonts.I am trying to creates some pdf document with iText(A pdf generation tool).I am using some afm font files for supporting fonts. My problem is;When i load those afm files , entries gets overlapped. ie ...if a entry has value "test" then all the characters are overlapped in pdf. I checked one or more files from there and they had the above mentioned entry in them.My question is if i download afm files from adobe download link then can i ship the
I was looking for help in finding a font for my logo. I'm not a designer at all, so I'm calling on all the fine designers and folks on the Adobe site to help me out. All replies are, of course, appreciated and any suggestions/comments/ideas will be welcome.I'm designing a logo for my film company. I wanted to keep it simple but not boring either. I put together the first draft of the logo using Photoshop CS3 and used Trajan Pro for the film company words (Panthera Films) and used Futura for the slogan ("Inspiration through Imagination"). While I don't mind the fonts, it's simple but, alas, too boring. I love the panther image but need a dynamic font for "Panthera Films" and a complimenting font for the slogan. Can anyone recommend a good combination of fonts to replace the Trajan Pro and Futura? As well, I want to give the logo a nice presence without it being too loud, bold or jumping off the page. As well, should the font for "Films" be the same as "Panthera" or can they be dif
I'm having problems loading Type 1 fonts into Windows XP. I loaded ATM 4.1 light and get the following error message when trying to load the fonts through it: 'Cannot activate font <fontname>. The font files are invalid.'<br /><br />I've removed ATM 4.1 from my computer and ran the ATM 4.1 light updater to fix the registry problem, but now get the following error message when trying to load the fonts through the windows font folder: 'Unable to install the <fontname> font. File "D:\fontname___.pfm is either invalid or damaged"' <br /><br />So I'm thinking that the registry is not completely fixed as it seems the .pfm files are not being associated properly. I've tried re installing windows and that did nothing. I would really prefer not to have to re format the hard drive and start from scratch as I already had to do that with this brand new Dell laptop due to issues with MS Office. I guess that's my worst case scenario. I also have Adobe Photoshop CS
Because of a virus, I had to erase the hard drive of my computer. I reinstalled the Adobe CS3 Design Premium software and have noticed that I have lost fonts in the process. (All open type fonts: Adobe Jenson Pro, Porky's, to name a few). I had originally started with Adobe CS2 but did not put that on the computer with the re-install. I did look in the font collection from the CS2 disk and did not see any of the missing fonts.Does anyone know if I did anything wrong, or how to get the fonts back? Thanks for your help,CathyWindows XP Operating System
Running OS X 10.5.7 on a MacBook Pro ("Late 2007")."A while ago" (don't know exactly when), I used to be able to use Adobe Garamond Expert (Type 1) font on my Mac. Now - not working. Adobe Garamond is working. In Font Book.app, I can get previews of AG, but not AGE (AGE does appear in the font list). I have the fonts and font suitcase installed in /Library/Fonts/. I thought the suitcase or a font file might be corrupted, but when browsing my font CD, I get the same results in the Finder. When trying to use a document containing AGE in Word 2008, I get blank glyphs.Another data point I just tried - I imported the Word doc into AI CS3, and AGE works fine in here (I guess the CS apps are using their own font engine?).Is this a known problem? Anyone else able to use AGE in Leopard? Thanks for any assistance.-Conrad
I really like this simple font. anyone have ideas on the font, or something similar?http://www.logodesignlove.com/images/handwritten/olive-logo.gifthanks.
What should I do???It has been almost 2 weeks since I purchased Univers 67 CondensedBold from the Adobe Fonts Store online. I downloaded the file, unzipped the folders and droped the font in my font folder and it didn't work. So, I tried loading it using Adobe Type Manager 4.1 and a crazy thing happened. The file I download has the folder called "Univers-CondensedBold" and in there are the files "uvcb___.pfb", etc. However, Adobe Type Manager 4.1 reads the font file as Univers 47 CondensedLight, Bold.Look at the screenshot! It dosen't work. I have a flash file that I need to update. It has the font Univers 67 CondensedBold and 47 is not a suitable replacement. Customer service gave me the run around for a week and is telling me know to wait 7 more days. They have no idea what to do. I called Corporate Headquarters and got an answering machine, They haven't called back. What do I do! I can't update this Flash file without this font.Any ideas!
Hi folks, I'm new to the adobe forums so excuse me if this question is redundant. I was wondering if anyone here knows of something like font suitcase for windows that lets you activate and deactivate fonts but a less expensive/free version Help is much appreciated!!
Hi,for a book project I need musical notation glyphs like flats, sharps etc. that can be integrated into InDesign CS4 body text. Anyone got an idea where to get them? Thanks for your help.JayDee
I am working on a book translated from English into Traditional Chinese, using Indesign CS4. In many cases I need to put English words among Chinese Characters. I set up Character Styles to apply the English Fonts I want, then doing word by word manually. Besides of the slow speed, it's easy to make mistakes doing by hand. I desperatly want to find a way to set up PARAGRAPH STYLES that I can specify both Chinese and English Fonts in a same paragraph stye. Will be very apprecited if someone please teach me how to get it.
I'm trying to find out what font was used to spell AutoTuff in this old logo. If anyone could shed some light I'd really appreciate it.Thanks!
Okay, I finally found out the name of the Slumdog font; it's Cracked, and came with versions of Illustrator. Is it available for DL anywhere?? I came to Adobe to find it but wasn't listed in the Fonts section, and Googling it yielded only other distressed fonts with 'cracked' in their names. I did find the result of the question asked at Yahoo Answers but the question/answer had been deleted! (God bless Google Search cached pages, tho. And of course the local freelancer who used it for something at the library.) Is Adobe going fascist and eliminating any references to it in order to keep it hush-hush secret and unavailable for some reason?
