Question

Is an Adobe Fonts Web Project tied to a Creative Cloud subscription?

I'm using Adobe Web Fonts and would like to know more specifically how they work.

Is the embed code that is generated for inserting into a web page tied specifically to my own CC subscription?

In other words, is there a direct link from the embed code to Adobe's web font servers or if I deactivate the web project, do the fonts no longer display correctly on web sites even though they have the embed code?

If you stop the subscription (deliberately or through eg billing issues or staff changes) the font delivery stops. For this reason, I don't believe any enterprise will want to use Adobe fonts in its permanent web site, though they may be great for prototyping. Purchase of font licenses should be in the budget. Another advantage of this is an opportunity to define corporate standards, rather than let every designer use whatever cool font they find in the moment.
