Ligatures made in FontForge not working in most Adobe software?

The FontForge generated .ttf file is attached -- I can't seem to attach my FontForge .sfd file to this post, unfortunately. Ligatures are turned on in Illustrator as you can see in the screenshot, but they simply don't show - oddly enough they do appear correctly in the glyphs panel, and then incorrectly when inserted into the document.

I have seen the same issue in Photoshop and Premiere - but again oddly enough the ligatures work just fine in Premiere Closed Captions, just not as text objects in the document.
