Matching Illustrator stroke to Photoshop stroke

Hello,

I am working on a logo and have a vector drawing in illustrator.

Now that I am adding text, I am trying to achieve the same text in illustrator that I did on mock up in photoshop.

Here is Baker Signet @ 60pt with 3pt outline on both:

I notice the path alignment is center, and cannot choose otherwise.

What is the best way to duplicate photoshop's effect in illustrator? I want to keep it vector.

I thought text effects would be best suited in this forum, as it isn't just illustrator, but the effects of text in multiple products.

That is why I chose here..
