Myriad Pro Black in illustrator CS3 / Leopard not working

Having major problems with nearly all my old fonts
on the MacPro ( leopard ) and illustrator CS3.
On the old Mac and ai CS2 things were running great.

The most common error message regarding type is when opening CS2 artwork
containing Myriad Pro Black and itallic.( and hundreds of other fonts )

Do any of you out there have a fix for this

Actually I feel wery mislead by Adobe and Apple
spending more than $ 5.000 on the CS3 premium pack and a MacPro.

.... without getting one single hint that there would be difficulties
opening artwork previous to CS3 and Leopard.

Smells a bit of Gates this one guys !

Two things:

1) It might help if you told us what the actual error message is.

2) It might help if you posted in a more appropriate forum: Mac type manager and fonts would be good, or Illustrator. The forum for people using Adobe's OpenType FDK to make fonts seems inappropriate.
