Software License for Type 1 typefaces bought in 1980s and 1990s

Hello to all,

Years ago the Adobe Type 1 typefaces came in white envelopes with the floppy disks enclosed. The white envelopes had legalese printed on them. If my memory serves me correctly, the legalese noted that the end user had bought a license to use the software (the Type 1 fonts) until a certain date. What was that date? I destroyed these white envelopes in a move in 2008. Thanks.

I don't know if the legalese is the same on all the packages, but I checked my vintage box of Illustrator 4.0. The white envelope containing the floppy disc installers and "publishing pack" of fonts has lots of regulations listed in the fine print, but I can't find anything mentioning an expiration date.

I never bought fonts on floppies, but I do not remember of any font limited in time. You do not have a readme.txt file on the disk?
