Sonata font does not work in MS word, windows 7

I purchased and downloaded Sonata Std. from Adobe. I downloaded it and installed it. I want to use it in Microsoft Word (Office 2013) - Windows 7. When I open a Word document, the Sonata Std. font name appears in the font select window, but after I select it and go to the document to begin typing, it reverts back to some other standard font (Cambria or Times New Roman).

It does not seem to work at all. This is very troubling, since I paid $30 for it.

Please help!

You need to install the custom keyboard layout that shipped with the font.

Add or change an input language -- Windows 7

Thank you for your response. I didn't receive any custom keyboard layout (at least I don't think I did). I downloaded the font from the internet, so nothing "shipped." Am I misunderstanding somthing?

In the download you got, are there any files besides the font (file with a .otf extension) ?
