Type 1 fonts and Windows 7

I'm trying to install a handful of fonts on my Win 7 Pro system from an older Adobe Type Basics CD. I need Helvetica, and can't get the fonts installed. Is there a trick to using these fonts in Win 7, or is the news worse than that....

    I should add that the dates on the fonts on the CD are 6/12/2000

    I think I got it. The CD doesn't include the font's .pfm files. However, they are apparently created by Win XP when installed there, so I copied the .pfm files from the old XP system and brought them to Win 7, and they install.

    Darn glad I kept that old machine online for a little while.
