When typing " in illustrator i get E's help!

In illustrator 4, i don't know if i pressed something but now this sign -> " looks like -> È

please tell me if there is a reset for font that wont delete my purchased fonts.

hope I'm in the right forum it is about type!

this has been solved by unpluging the keyboard and rebooting!

You are welcome, Rita.

As you have seen, the Illustrator forum is a friendly place, often busy and fast; and better for many questions about Type in Illustrator.

It is always a challenge to guess; and the issue did not seem to fit any Illustrator misbehaviour, making the keyboard a suspect. I have never seen this particular issue before.

I had some woodwork (furniture parts) to do this evening, so I have only just seen your thread there, and here again; midnight in about 20 minutes (over) here.

Rita,

I believe it is a keyboard/language issue. So you should have a look at your settings; and you may try to change the keyboard if you have a spare one.
