Windows: Font cannot be used in Adobe apps

Hi all, I installed Zapf Dingbats (Open Type Font) and it can be used in all Windows Applications but

not in the Adobe Apps. Any idea what's going wrong? Thanks

    It would assist us tremendously to assist you if you gave us some information. Exactly what do you mean by it not being able to be used in Adobe applications?

    Is the problem that you cannot find the font in the font list? Or something else?

    I have just confirmed that under Windows 7 and 10 with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, ITC Zapf Dingbats does indeed appear in the list of available fonts (in alphabetic sequence with the ‘Z’ fonts) and can be used to format text. Note that these applications are Unicode-aware and that OpenType versions of ITC Zapf Dingbats may require that you use a glyphs palette to actually key in the characters you require from that (and other symbolic) OpenType fonts.
