Javascript and EchoSign

Hello everyone,

I'm putting together some contracts to send out to various vendors we use to transport materials. I have created the contract and added various Javascript features to the document in order to have all of the required fields completed. Some of these javascript items include:

  • Linked text fields that require the users initials in either an agree or disagree column (they cant select both)
  • Making the agree or disagree fields above required to initial one or the other

When I import the document into EchoSign and send it out, the fields are no longer have the features that were entered into the Javascript. I found the EchoSign widget (EchoSign Widget | Adobe EchoSign) but I want to see if this will allow the Javascrip coding to transfer to the Echosign document.

Thank you for your help,

Ben

Hello FatPeaches,

After reviewing your question and doing the subsequent research, I've found that Javascript cannot be used in any EchoSign document being sent out for signature. The EchoSign Widget will convert any code into Javascript so that the widget can then be embedded into a web site however it does not extend to e-mailed documents sent out to be signed. However, it is still possible using either text-tagging or the drag-and-drop fields along with the calculated fields feature. For more

For more detailed help in getting this done, you may want to contact Adobe EchoSign Support directly with any other function-based questions you may have along with a copy of your document so that one of their representatives can advise you further on what calculated fields feature you can use to get the desired effect.

Thanks for your inquiry!

Rob.
